Celebrating Hotel Heroes across the globe
The past few weeks have been challenging for our industry to say the least. As a whole, individuals and businesses are overwhelmed with grief and angst as we navigate this global pandemic. But amongst the turmoil, there has been incredible signs of hope, community and giving.
We spoke to a number of our customers to find out how they were coping right now and many of them were able to share incredible stories of how they were using this time to give back to the community, donate or provide support for their furloughed employees. We’ve collated these stories for you to in our Hotel Heroes series, below is the wonderful story from Station Casinos.
Since the Governor of Nevada issued closure to all Casinos in the state on March 17, Station Casinos has been working tirelessly to provide support to their employees and community. Shortly after the closure, it was announced that their full-time employees would be paid through April 30 (now extended to May 15th).
Also, immediately following the closure, the company took the next step for their community and converted some of their property’s parking lots into a hub for the food and school supplies distribution. Their perishable food (over 100 pallets) was donated to the local food bank Three Square, Share Village and the Salvation Army to ensure none went to waste.
They donated $1 million to the state’s relief efforts to help provide PPE for medical workers and donated clothing to the local University to support their face-mask production.
‘All-in Together’ sums it up pretty well for a family-owned business providing for their community through the good and the bad.
