Celebrating Hotel Heroes across the globe
The past few weeks have been challenging for our industry to say the least. As a whole, individuals and businesses are overwhelmed with grief and angst as we navigate this global pandemic. But amongst the turmoil, there has been incredible signs of hope, community and giving.
We spoke to a number of our customers to find out how they were coping right now and many of them were able to share incredible stories of how they were using this time to give back to the community, donate or provide support for their furloughed employees. We’ve collated these stories for you to in our Hotel Heroes series, below is the wonderful story from Wynn Resorts.
Wynn Resorts has set up a Virtual Volunteer program, a digital platform for employees to give back through national and local online volunteer opportunities.
Micro Volunteering allows anyone, anywhere, the opportunity to participate with or without a computer and are generally tasks that require just a few minutes or a few hours.
This wonderful initiative ‘Doing Well By Doing Good’ enables employees to volunteer and provide assistance to a wide range of worthy causes. From assisting the visually impaired to mentoring high school students to building websites for small businesses, employees can choose from hundreds of ways to offer their personal and professional skills to help people in need.
Nonprofit organizations can request participation in the Virtual Volunteer program by completing the assessment survey on the Wynn Employee Foundation website.
Their light shows shared via social media have illustrated their support for their community:
