Meet the team: 5 minutes with Elizabeth Stanislaw

Meet the people behind Cendyn

Name: Elizabeth Stanislaw

Title: Event Planner & Marketing Specialist

Describe your role: I take care of all events for Cendyn – everything from trade shows, onsite guests, speaking presentations, award ceremonies and company dinners. My responsibilities include logistics, Cendyn team accommodations and flights, food and beverage, as well as marketing for all events throughout the year.

Where are you located? I am based out of the Boca Raton office. I live in Fort Lauderdale, about a 40-minute commute during rush hour.

What attracted you to Cendyn? I initially learned about Cendyn when I was completing my Master’s in Business Administration at FAU (go owls!). Cendyn encompasses my interests and education, especially psychology, business administration, marketing and events. I studied a Bachelor’s in Psychology, and I think there is a strong correlation between psychology (knowing what people like, what they respond well to), and the hospitality industry (being able to provide guests with an exceptional experience). Additionally, I have experience in marketing, which is another component of Cendyn. I have worked in various hospitality settings throughout college, specifically restaurants and events.

How do your strengths play into the work you do? I am a very fast-paced person – I like to work on various projects simultaneously. As an event planner, there are always dozens of moving parts – planning different events at the same time, planning logistics for each event (travel, food and beverage, and dates/deadlines), and developing marketing campaigns around the events. I wear many hats, and that is why I love the job that I do.

What do you like most about working at Cendyn? My favorite part of working at Cendyn is the culture. Cendyn values its employees with awesome perks, good benefits and everyone at the company is friendly. Additionally, because Cendyn is in such an innovative hospitality space, the company is rapidly growing, which offers stability and room for growth.

Favorite Cendyn moment: HITEC 2019, one of the largest tradeshows we attend annually, was my favorite Cendyn moment thus far. This was the first event I planned at Cendyn, so it was an amazing opportunity to use my event planning skills, meet other Cendyn colleagues who are not based out of Boca, and explore Minneapolis, which I have never been to before.

Define hospitality in your own words:

Hospitality is the art of offering guests an exceptional, memorable experience that they will value for years to come.

What do you like to do for fun? For fun, I am a lover of fitness – running, yoga, kayaking – anything active. I am vegan, so I love cooking different things. Traveling is one of my passions, and I am planning my next long international adventure.

Parting words of wisdom: Life is short – appreciate every day you have, enjoy the people around you, and always set goals to propel yourself forward.
