Celebrating Hotel Heroes across the globe
The past few weeks have been challenging for our industry to say the least. As a whole, individuals and businesses are overwhelmed with grief and angst as we navigate this global pandemic. But amongst the turmoil, there has been incredible signs of hope, community and giving.
We spoke to a number of our customers to find out how they were coping right now and many of them were able to share incredible stories of how they were using this time to give back to the community, donate or provide support for their furloughed employees. We’ve collated these stories for you to in our Hotel Heroes series, below is the wonderful story from Caesers Entertainment.
Since temporarily closing doors during the coronavirus situation, Caesars Entertainment resorts have given back to the community in a time of need. Over the past few weeks, resorts in Las Vegas have donated 116 pallets worth of perishable food items – such as dairy, eggs and produce – to Three Square Food Bank. The food was dispersed to the nonprofit’s 43 emergency food distribution sites throughout the Las Vegas Valley.
Additionally, 10 pallets of perishables were donated to others in the community, including Las Vegas Rescue Mission, and Macedonia Outreach Social Enrichment Services (MOSES) and Share Village.
Harrah’s Reno donated 150 pounds of food to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. Catholic Charities received 500 meals and the Gospel Mission received 100 meals. Hash House A Go Go also donated 200 pounds worth of food to Catholic Charities. Harrah’s Resort Southern California donated more than 8,000 pounds of produce and refrigerated items to the San Diego Food Bank. The resort also donated 805 pounds of food to The Foundry Escondido.
